Rock Cycle

Glacial geology has impacted our landscape dramatically in Northern Indiana, and this program helps make those impacts visible! Students will visualize the last ice age, when a glacier more than a half-mile thick, sat on top of our property, and then measure this compared to various buildings and even skyscrapers!

Models of glacial meltwater will reveal how our landscape has been changed- and students will walk on those very formations to help learning “take root.”  Hike along an esker, explore soil types to make geology come to life, and explore an abandoned gravel pit in this memorable program.
